Despite the apparent influence of guests, the grand, icy pillars, mighty arching bridge, and deep chambers of the grotto are all a work of nature. Filled with reflections of light the cavern presents a unique and interesting location to explore.
The map will be a great, short dungeon or even a boss arena, as it presents many terrain opportunities to explore. Smart party [or DM ;)] will definitely make good use of them. Fasten your jackets, take out your finest torches and pull on the warmest socks, as a truly chilly adventure awaits!
Adventure hooks ideas:
– The blizzard was unexpected. You had to run, and seek shelter as fast as possible. Could it be? A cave? unbelievable luck! But as you, cold, exhausted and wounded start setting up the camp in the first chamber you suddenly hear screeching from the darker part of the cave. You are not alone.
– Your tribe has long lived in the Icy Cavern. You have dined there, you have slept there, you have sung there. But yesterday the shaman had a vision, a vision of terror, and, although it was vague, it was certainly connected to the cavern. What threat may there come, that will be great enough to make you leave your land?
– You’ve been trying to track down Sulba the snow monster for weeks now. Finally, you make a breakthrough – you find a lonely orc, wandering through the land, who claims to have seen the monster getting into a cave several miles away. It’s your chance! But what if the orc lied? What if the location is false? And what if it’s in fact his trap?
