Small, stone houses, hanging at the edge of an endless hole are home to a somber, but the hard-working tribe of deep gnomes, who are willing to protect their land at any cost. The major of the village is holding the society together and on his behalf, they are all working as one family.
Although the map is intended to be used mostly as a settlement plan there are many tactical opportunities to be used if needed – from various height levels, through the giant and dangerous hole in the middle up to narrow and easily defendable passages, leading to the hamlet.
Turn on your lantern, grab your pickaxe and bring something to trade with into the wonderous Deep Gnome Hamlet!
Adventure hooks ideas:
– Mechanical bird woke the PC’s this morning with a message, tied to its leg. On the little sheet, there is written a call for help – the hamlet of Profoundo is besieged by the goblins, any help from a decent soul is welcome and will certainly be rewarded. If the PC’s won’t hurry, they will encounter only empty houses with not a soul to be heard… If they will come on time they will have a chance to prove themselves worthy in a battle with hordes of goblins, who just breached the tunnels.
– Gogon, a small, gnome child is wandering around the Stone Forest. He is very friendly, and will gladly lead PCs to the village, he lives in. What he won’t tell the PCs about is that the void in the middle of the village is cursed and once you take a peek inside it you won’t be able to go further than a mile from the hamlet. What has caused the curse? Is it even possible to end it? The answers to those questions might only be found in the dangerous void below.
– The Grand Postal Guild has recently recruited you and currently, you are on your first delivery mission. Your goal is to transport an important and suspicious package to a certain gnome, living in the darkest of caves in a little village. The road to the place is said to be extremely dangerous, so better watch out!
