Greetings, adventurers! In the calmness of the underground lies a place of a truly enchanting nature – the Crystal Cave. This whimsical grotto is mostly made up of giant crystals, turning any light that strikes them into a subtle and poetic spectacle of reflections. The origin of the cave is not known, but it is still a marvelous sight.
Crystal Cave is designed to combine the beauteous nature of the shiny rocks with a fun, strategic map to fight on. Many exits and varied terrain elevation may lead to truly memorable encounters with a wide variety of creatures.
Light up your torch, open your eyes widely, and get ready for something one of its kind as you are entering the Crystal Cave!
Adventure hooks ideas:
– The city council is planning on expanding the underground archives of the library. When the workers started digging they stumbled upon a wide tunnel, leading deep underground. At the bottom of the shaft, they discovered a cave full of huge crystals. When the citizens found out about this landmark they went crazy trying to get to the place and steal as much of the precious material as they could. The council decided to recruit someone to guard the place.
– In the highland region there is a tale of a brave giant knight, who used to roam the local lands committing the most righteous of deeds. As a reward for his actions, the gods turned his heart into a pure crystal, making him virtually invincible. The only way for him to die was to decide that it’s the right time. When the brave knight was fighting in the far north his beloved village of Thongom was attacked and destroyed. The moment he discovered what happened he decided to go into an eternal sleep, as he failed to protect those in need. He turned then into a giant mountain, but it is said that there is still a crystal heart inside.
– As you venture through the deepest parts of the underground complex of caverns you see a dim, purple light, coming from one of the tunnels. As you approach its source a peculiar, crushing sound becomes more and more apparent. Suddenly, when you reach a wider part of the tunnel you hear a loud zap and a frightened cry. What or who could it be? Is it safe to investigate?
